Our Invisible Strings
Michael and Jordan’s paths were intertwined long before they realized it, connected by invisible strings that had been gently pulling them toward each other all along.
Their stories both began at Wesley Medical Center, where they were delivered by the same doctor. Little did they know they would spend the next 27 years searching for one another.
They grew up only a few miles apart, both attending Catholic grade schools. In high school, their social circles occasionally overlapped, yet they still never met.
When it came time for college, they both left Kansas—Michael to Oklahoma State University and Jordan to the University of Arkansas. Michael even visited Arkansas a few times, yet somehow, their paths still didn’t cross.
After graduation, they both returned to Wichita. Again, their lives ran in parallel, with shared friends and spaces, but they still never met.
It wasn’t until 2022, during a Chiefs game, that those invisible strings finally pulled them together—thanks to a little help from Hinge. Michael came across Jordan’s profile, and as fate would have it, one of her friends was watching the game with him. She spoke highly of Jordan, and just like that, he was asking her on their first date.
They met at Central Standard Brewery, sitting at the long table by the front door. The two spent three hours talking, laughing, and realizing they had found something truly special.
Nearly two years later, Michael brought Jordan back to that same spot, but this time, he had an important question to ask. With their two dogs as witnesses and hearts racing, he got down on one knee and asked her to spend forever with him. She, of course, said, “Yes!”
Looking back now, it’s remarkable to think of all the moments when they might have met but didn’t. Time works in mysterious ways, and though it took them 27 years to finally come together, it feels like it happened at just the right moment.
There was even a time when their invisible strings pulled them closer without them knowing. In 2021, they both attended a wedding, unknowingly appearing in the same photo long before they ever met in person. That wedding took place at the Wichita Art Museum, making it even more fitting that they celebrate their love story there.

Isn’t it just so pretty to think that all along, there was some invisible string tying you to me?
